The man in the movie: Day One

I wanted to write something after the first day in a string of many days to come all culminating in an effort to make a movie. I loaded 4 tapes today and attempted 6 (a little DV/HDV/SP/LP mix up). The were some malfunctions with some of the tapes but with two cameras and a mini DV walkman I was able to at least view the footage. At one point I had two computers capturing tape at the same time. I was watching my 23rd birthday spent interviewing people in Time Sq on one computer and my final days at Dutch Bros and the first couple tapes worth of HDV footage from my HV10 on the other computer. It was nice to have dates displayed from digital time stamps while I was flooded with memories of what I thought might have been. I remain optimistic that I have an interesting story to tell but I certainly still don’t know what it is. You can see the vimeo upload and some still from the tapes below…
